The event brief
Our regular client Nationwide invited us into the their HQ in Swindon, to transform it into a Australia theme Christmas party. They generally choose a local venue for their Christmas party, but on this occasion, their numbers had expanded rapidly, so they needed an equally rapid solution.
Our event solution
Like all of our events, it starts with a site visit so we can understand the logistics, layout, and client expectations.
Our extensive knowledge of event management allows us to look at a space for its potential to hold this style of event.
A sit-down dinner isn't just one party space. It is effectively three or four spaces:

You need a reception point for guests to come in, be entertained with drinks, and then move into the main dining space.

You need a space for entertainment, performers, or games.

You need two subspaces: a catering space and a storage space.

We looked at the venue and planned the logistics to execute the event in the main foyer or 'marketplace' and canteen. We worked around our client's requirements that the main spaces could not be shut down too early, as it was their office headquarters, so this was an additional logistics problem., that we just had to overcome With just a few hours to theme the party, it did prove quite a challenge, but eventually it was a ripper mate, with Dame Edna stealing the show.
What our extensive event management skills taught us
Our management skills taught us to evaluate the space and manage our clients' expectations accordingly. Using your own office headquarters is an attractive proposition, as you will save on venue fees, but it needs to be carefully managed, particularly if it's a working environment. We understand logistics, event planning, zoning spaces, what space performers and catering need. All these spaces need to be considered when you are thinking of using your own venue.
