What we deliver
As team building organisers, we design and deliver corporate team building events as complete days, not activities dropped into a room. Venue, catering, timings, logistics and the activity itself - planned as one event, run by our own crew with our own kit.
Planet Pursuits began as a team building company in 2001. The full event agency grew out of this service and it's still the work we know best. Our founder Simon Maddison is an ex-Royal Navy commander who has been designing experiential team building events that around the problems that companies actually face - communication, delegation, managing teams effectively, Whatever your needs are, we have the experience to build the most effective day.
We deliver across the M4 corridor region including (though not limited to) West London, Reading, Newbury, Swindon, Bath and Bristol.
We also deliver in the regions surrounding Cheltenham and Oxford. At all locations work at a venue we find for you, or at your site.

How much does a corporate team building event cost?
There are three factors to consider when thinking about a team building event:

Where will you host it? The venue. We can help with this, but it is a cost you need to consider

Catering -how long will the event last? Will you need welcome tea and coffee? Lunch? An afternoon snack or picnic, etc.

The activity itself. What is it you are trying to achieve? Is it a collaboration event? Is it about leadership? Is it communication skills, or is it all three? As a general guide, depending on your group size, team building can cost as little as £50 -£100 per person if you have large numbers (100-300) as you achieve economy of scale. If you have a smaller team, say of 30 people, you need to be budgeting around £100 to £300 per person for the activity

What group sizes work for team building events?
Anything from eight to several hundred. Small groups suit immersive problem-solving formats; larger groups need zoned, rotation-based days. Group size is the first thing we ask because it rules formats in and out faster than budget does.
Also, think about your objective. If it's a smaller team and you want to focus on collaboration, events like The Bridge, The Race and The Big Picture are ideal for this kind of event. If you are looking for a much larger-scale event, let's say 150-300 people, something like The Brand is a very unifying event or a competitive day like Quantum Challenge is fun.
How long should a team building event last?
Depending on the group size and the objective, it can be anything but from 2 hours to half a day. 2 to half a day is the most common and popular format. Long enough for the activity to deliver, short enough to hold energy.
Full days work when travel, company updates, food and social time are part of the objectives.
Conference energisers and team ice breakers can be as short as 25-45 minutes. For example, our collaborative event, The Bridge, lasts approximately 2 hours but a Multi-activity day can last 3 to 4 hours with rotation and activities.
What's the difference between a team building event and an away day?
Team-building event types are assembled based on a specific activity.
Away days, on the other hand, are fundamentally about strategy and purpose. For example, leadership conclaves, reward days or client connection. yes, an activity will probably be part of an away day but not esclusively.
Team building days are all about events and what can be learned individually and as teams. If activity is the point then you are at the right page. If only an element of the day then try our away days service. away days service.
What about a venue - do you provide these or do you visit our offices or site?
Well, actually as team building organisers , we can do both. Part of our service is checking out the most appropriate venue for your planned event but, equally, we can deliver the event at your offices or chosen location. Neither is a problem and this is something we would discuss and agree in the early planning stages.
Indoor or outdoor - how do we choose?
Great qustion! Think of it this way - Season first and group second.
October to April - Best to plan for indoor unless the group is genuinely hardy.
May to September - Now we've unlocked the outdoor formats (though always sensible to think about and indoor fallback, given the British weather. One point worth noting - mixed-mobility groups usually get more from indoor formats.
