The event brief

Our clients had one eye on the future and one eye on thanking their team for a very successful year. Requested the services of IPlanet Pursuits to deliver a space-themed party from event conception to completion. It was wonderful to have free rein over this event theme and a good budget to match.

Our event solution

We have to admit, it's the first time we were presented with this theme, and boy, did we let our imaginations run riot!

An event theme party always takes on the same three stages:

The welcome reception
The dinner or the food element
The entertainment

With this theme, we certainly didn't want to disappoint, so we made sure at all three stages we had entertainment with a space theme. Guests were welcomed by the giant Titan, the Robot - the world-famous 8 ft. tall, 350 kg robotic suit and performance act. If you've not seen it, it's a must-book entertainment. The theme continued as guests proceeded into the main event dining space with more robots, a space-themed event space featuring a giant ice meteorite vodka luge etched with the company logo and our human theatre dressed as Egg Heads and Space Grannies. Games areas were filled with Space Invaders, of course, and other space-themed retro games. The space theme continued in the cocktail bar, where neon shots were served in test tubes. Finally, guests were entertained by aerial artists and contortionist and danced the night away to an ABBA tribute band. The result: a nonstop, entertaining spectacle.

Our event takeaway from this theme

We always take away something new from every event that we do. Whilst the ideas, planning, logistics and execution always remain the same, the creativity never ceases to amaze us and our clients when we start our brainstorming sessions. Once our imagination was allowed to run wild, we came up with a brilliant concept for a new event.
