Held at the historic Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park, this royal-patronised event showcases the finest international players and magnificent polo ponies in thrilling 22-goal competition. Often described as the jewel in the crown of English polo, it blends sporting excellence with timeless elegance.

 

Itinerary –Semi Finals Day (Wed 10th June 2026)

  • 11:30 – 12:30 — Arrival & champagne welcome

  • 12:30 – 14:30 — Gourmet posh picnic luncheon with our Brut and Gin bar

  • 14:30 – 15:30 — Pre-match festivities, visit the La Martina Polo shop, walk the polo lines 

  • 15:30 onwards  TBC — Cartier Queen’s Cup Final & prize-giving

Dress Code Smart summer elegance. Gentlemen: collared shirt and tailored trousers (jacket optional). Ladies: elegant dresses or chic separates — hats and fascinators encouraged. Smart shoes or wedges recommended (avoid stilettos on grass).

​

Directions to Guards Polo Club Address: Smith’s Lawn, Windsor Great Park, Surrey SL5 7SA you must enter via Blacknest Gate on polo day. Taxis will be permitted to enter.

​

  • By Car: From London via M4 (Junction 6), approx. 45–60 minutes. Ample on-site parking.

  • By Train: London Waterloo to Egham station (40 mins), then short taxi ride.

  • From Heathrow: 30-40 minutes by taxi or private transfer.

  • Helicopter: Landing available (prior arrangement required).

 

Detailed arrival instructions and parking passes will be provided upon booking.

POLO INTRODUCTION

​

A Brief Introduction to Polo Known as the Sport of Kings, polo is a fast-paced team sport where four riders per side, mounted on highly trained ponies, compete to score goals using long mallets. Each chukka delivers seven minutes of exhilarating speed, skill, and strategy.

​

Simon Maddison - Founder 2001

 

Your host is Simon Maddison, founder and Director of Planet Pursuits and ex Polo player, who will be on hand to explain all the rules. Simon has a wide ranging experience in both creative event design, planning, logistics and European destination venue sourcing. Simon attends all the UK and Europe hospitality and event supplier shows, including IBTM, Event Production Show, The Meetings Show and The Showman's Show. Simon has personally run events throughout the UK and in Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Florence, Stockholm to name but a few. Simon has also successfully licenced exclusive event products in the UK, Denmark, France, UAE, New Zealand and Australia.

Simon is a driven business leader with an accomplished 12 year military background (Royal Navy, Commanding Officer, EOD diving & ordnance disposal).​​
