Experiential event management team building
An experiential event management company we design and deliver team building events where guests physically take part rather than watch. Your staff are 85% ore likely to remember what they experienced that what was shown to them on a deck of slides. Our aim is that the experience itself carries the message, so the design starts with what people will do, make and feel, not what they will be shown. Formats range from team-building events that revisit your company values or exercise communication and delegation skills
Planet Pursuits has been an experiential events company since 2001. Participation-led team events were our founding trade and our Director and founder Simon Maddison (ex-military leader) personally designs and builds experiential events that will engage your team.

Team building designed around taking part and understanding the decision-making processes
So many corporate events are built for an audience in passive receive mode. Our experiential events are built for participants to be in a staged approach active 'engagement' mode. Quite often, we introduce delegates to the OODA loop - a four-step decision-making model. Firstly there's understanding the problem or challenge, we call this the Observation phase - stop, slow down and observe. Next they need to evaluate the resources available to them, this is the Orientation phase - what have I got available to me, and what skills can I utilise in my team? This is followed by the Decide stage: Who's going to do what, and at what time? Finally, there is the action stage, where a team leader will put that plan into action before returning to the observation phase to question themselves: "Is my plan working?"
Why participation beats watching
It's a known fact, a guest who watched your event can repeat your message only for so long.. However, a guest who took part retells it as their own story, as they experienced it and we all know experiences last longer than observations.
Participation also gives you something a passive event cannot: evidence. A participant engaged in an event is experiencing a multi-level feedback effect. From the initial understanding phase, to the physical participation, through the reward of completion phase and finally capturing or documenting though video or photographing what they experienced, results in an experiential event that produces its own unique measurement.

Experiential team building FAQs
What's the difference between experiential events and standard team building?
Team building is very much a loosely defined word these days. With our experiential events, we are focusing on something specific to encourage delegates to develop further, such as communication skills, delegation, or exercising leadership..
What experiential event would you suggest for a whole-company engagement?
We designed our brand event specifically for whole-organisation engagement. It focuses on exercising your company values with a number of tasks which each team has to perform and deliver as one organisation. Once a team completes a task, it gets a section of a cube, which slowly constructs your logo, but collectively unites the team as one organisation. The tasks are specifically designed to engage teams and reflect your values.
How do you measure whether an experiential team build event worked?
We encourage teams to give feedback either during the event or post-event, particularly with something like the brand, where feedback is delivered in real time on the cubes they are constructing.
How much does an experiential team-building event cost?
The event size and facilitation depth, the venue and the headcount set the cost. A hands-on fun engaging 2 hour event costs less, but a more focused facilitation event costs more. Tell us the audience, the message and the date, and we will give you a firm range the same week.
Can experiential team-building events work for internal staff events?
Absolutely, you can! You might be planning a team review, a feedback session, or a company update, and you only want the entertaining element of team event, but with some beneficial experiential learning outcomes. Give us the brief, and we'll set the pace.
We are only a small team of 20 to 50. What event would you suggest?
Great question! Most of our experiential team-building events are perfect for this size of audience.
